The start of today's duel was in favor of Zhytomyr players. They played quite skillfully in defense, which allowed them to immediately take a significant advantage (6:2). The game evened out a little closer to the end of the set (19:18). However, TV viewers, fans, and the teams themselves saw déjà vu. The opposite Viktor Shapoval once again decided the fate of this game with his powerful serve (22:18). In the end, 25:19 and 1-0 for "Zhytychi".
Although the second set started with an equal struggle (5:4). However, the players of Zhytomyr played excellently on the block (13:7) and in defense (19:13). Instead, the "lawyers" made their own mistakes, and at key moments they could not "finish" the ball. Then their emotions and courage completely disappeared, and Serhii Tereykovskyi's team continued to lead and won the second game in a row - 25:20.
As it often happens, a big break changed the course of events. The players of Kharkiv connected the block (8:6 – 11:7). Thanks to their courage and team play, they were able to keep their distance from the opponent (23:18). Danylo Fedosieiev served an ace, and Bohdan Tatarenko "covered" his face on the block - 25:18.
The next part of the match also started with the leadership of "Law Academy" (9:6). Zhytomyr could not organize an attack after Mykyta Arbuzov served, and the "lawyers" carried out good counterattacks. However, at one point they simply lost their advantage (10:10). And on the serve of the Serbian passer Andrija Vilimanovic, "Zhytychi" were able to take the lead (13:10). Once again, the Kharkiv volleyball players failed to turn the tide of the match. And this +3 was enough for Zhytomyr to win the set. The end of the match was put by none other than Viktor Shapoval and his next ace - 25:20 and the match 3-1.
The most productive player of the meeting was Victor Shapoval the opposite player of Zhytomyr (21 points).
The MVP award went to the Bosnian attacker of "Zhytychi" Alen Didovic.
