The Ukrainians did not leave any chance to the representatives of Latvia in the first round of the championship of the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association.

Already at the start of the confrontation, the blue-yellow team confidently led the score (1:8) on the serve of Marharyta Heiko, who knocked out the opponents on the reception. This spurt became decisive in the debut set. Because later the Latvians leveled the game and began to impose competitive volleyball, but it was not up to them to catch up with our team.

In the next set, the teams did not let go of each other for a long time. At the equator of this set, the wards of Artem Dyhtiarenko added in defensive actions over the net, which ensured a comfortable handicap (10:14). Our opponents still tried to get back into the game, but a large number of individual errors did not allow them to do so.

The development of the third set resembled the previous ones. Latvia was once again in the role of those who catch up. Meanwhile, the national team of Ukraine confidently led in the score and in the end finished the set, and with it, the match with a general victory.

Bohdana Hrytsyk became the best scorer of the match with 11 points.
