According to the regulations of the competitions held in the city of Laval, the national teams began their journey in the quarterfinals. At this stage, the Ukrainians overcame the resistance of the Croatian team, and the Colombians beat Kenya.
In the semi-finals, fate brought Ivan Petkov's team together with the volleyball players of France, whom they have already defeated not so long ago in the European Golden League-2023. However, this time fortune smiled on the hosts of the tournament.
For their part, the representatives of South America fought against Sweden for a ticket to the finals. In the end, the latter gave the opponent to win only one set.
