Super League-Dmart 2023/24 (women)
2nd round. The fifth game. November 4
SC "Balta" — SC "Prometey" 0-3 (8:25, 17:25, 23:25)
The main intrigue of this confrontation was whether the former coach of "Prometey" Andrii Romanovych would be able to prepare his wards for a real battle with the current champions of Ukraine. And this after an exhausting five-set match against "Dobrodiy". However, no miracle happened.
The game started with the spurt by the "red and white" team (0:3). They completely knocked out their opponents from the reception. Therefore, the latter could not organize an effective attack for a long time to win the rally (1:9). In addition, the Balta team had many of their own unforced errors.
We would like to note the appearance of Marta Drpa in the starting six, who was quite active in those minutes and was marked by a long series of serves. In particular, the Serbian's aces forced Romanovych to take a second break in a short period of time. However, these time-outs did not affect the general picture of the game. "Prometey" continued to combine and finished the set quite quickly - 8:25.
It was nice to watch the struggle at the beginning of the second set (3:3). At the same time, it was felt that the current champions could "explode" at any moment because their potential is widely known. The trigger for this was Yevheniia Khober's well-aimed shots. Soon, Bojana Milenkovic also scored successful shots, increasing her team's lead (9:15). The ending was again without intrigue — 17:25.
In the third period, Ivan Petkov's wards continued to dictate their terms on the court to their opponents. At the equator, they momentarily lost the rhythm of the match and gave the Balta team a chance for a comeback (15:15, 22:23). But this did not happen, because "Prometey" pressed the opposites masterfully - 23:25.
