In the opening match of the 6th round of the Women's Super League-Dmart, contenders for the championship — "DobroDiy-Meduniversitet-ShVSM" and SC "Prometey" met on the court. The previous face-to-face game of the teams in the first circle of the competition ended with the victory of Yuliia Yakusheva's team on a tie-break. Therefore, today the "red and whites" had a double motivation: to take revenge and overtake their opponents in the tournament table by points lost.
The first half of the opening set took place in an equal struggle. After Polina Dziuba's ace and Valeriia Yakusheva's mistake, Prometey took the lead for the first time with a difference of three points — 12:15. Vinnytsia players continued to make mistakes, and Andrii Romanovych's team, on the contrary, took courage - 15:22.
However, on the serve of Anastasiia Malysheva, "DobroDiy" made a spurt and reduced its deficit to 20:22. In those minutes, due to the lack of quality reception, the "red and whites" could not organize a powerful attack. Due to the efforts of the same Dziuba, they "received", and later they did bring the segment to their victory - 22:25.
The uncompromising struggle continued in the next set. Teams alternately exchanged points, and none of them was going to give the initiative - 13:13. Uliana Kotar's attack at the first pace forced Yakusheva to take a 30-second break because the advantage of "Prometey" was already two points - 15:17. The time-out turned out to be successful for her players because they equalized parity - 19:19.
The end of the set was quite intense - 23:23. After a mistake by Olena Rudyk in the setting, "DobroDiy" received a set ball. The players from Prometey retaliated, however, Maryna Dehtiarova passed through the block of her opponents and earned another one. It was possible to realize it already in the next rally — 26:24.
The third set started with a "swing" - 2:1, 3:6. Next, the team from Vinnytsia was forced to play the role of a team that is catching up. Often they did not have time to react to the actions of the face over the net. Instead, the combination of "pipe" performed by Valeriia Yakusheva bore some fruit — 20:23. But this was not enough to save this set - 20:25.
In the opening minutes of the fourth set, both sides actively used video challenges. However, these pauses did not disrupt the rhythm of the match at all. The players continued to compete with all their might, and the scales periodically tilted in the direction of one or the other team - 15:15. In the end, fortune smiled on the volleyball players of "DobroDiy" - 25:22. The previous success gave them a boost in the tie-break — 15:10.
