The other day in the town of Khyriv (Lviv region) the matches of the championship of Ukraine "Children's League" of the 2022/23 season among girls born in 2006 were held at the "Layar Palace" court. 11 teams took part in the competition, they were divided into three groups at the first stage.
Three winners and the best second team made it to the "final four", namely: DYUSHOR Sports Academy "Prometey" (Kamianske), KZ DOSFKSP named after S. Bubka (Bakhmut), Sports Lyceum of DYUSSH No. 1 (Bila Tserkva) and ODYUSSH (Lutsk).
In the end, the "gold" of the championship was won by Anastasiia Kotliarenko's players (Prometey Academy), who alternately beat their opponents with the same score of 3-0. Silver awards went to volleyball players from Bakhmut, and bronze to representatives of Bila Tserkva.
- We signed up for the tournament with the players who were born in 2007, 2008, and 2009, - says Anastasia Kotlyarenko, the mentor of the Prometey Academy. - Half of the games were played by the youngest girls. Despite the fact that in the "final four" we beat everyone with a score of 3-0, the matches turned out to be quite intense and interesting. Rivals with dual motivations were targeting us, so it was great to go against them. We are happy that we took the first place. In addition, our athletes Kateryna Zhilinska and Oleksandra Molchanova received individual awards as the best blocker and the best setter, respectively. It is symbolic that volleyball players from Bakhmut, who were forced to move abroad, took part in the championship. Now they live and practice in Poland. This is a very good team.
