SC "Prometey" continues their performances in the Champions League. On January 18, the current champion of Ukraine will meet with "Le Cannet" in the 4th round of the main grid of the competition. The match will take place in France at the La Palestre arena at 21:00 Kyiv time.

Previous match of the teams

In the match of the 2nd round against the giants of French volleyball, the "red and whites" won their first historic victory in the group stage of the most prestigious European club tournament.

The success of the Ukrainians was really strong-willed and, probably, somewhat unexpected for the representatives of "Le Cannet", but not for us. During the meeting, Ivan Petkov's team was losing 0-2 in sets but found the strength to fight back and made a comeback - 3-2 (24:26, 17:25, 25:14, 25:15, 15:10).

Tournament position

After the first round of the group stage of the competition, "Prometey" is on the fourth step in Quartet B (one win and two points). The "red and whites" lost to the clubs Vero Volley (Italy) and Alba Blaj (Romania) with the same score of 0-3, and, as we said above, defeated Le Cannet (France) in a tie-break.

Our closest opponents are currently in second place with two victories and five points. The team of the Serbian coach Milan Hrsychi quite unexpectedly triumphed over "Alba Blaj" and the group's favorite "Vero Volley". It is interesting that all three matches involving the French team ended after five played sets.
