Despite their first official match of the 2023-2024 season, the volleyball players of the Ternopil "Security Police-ZUNU-Dynamo" team took to the court of the PVLU arena as if they were the owners of this hall. They served very powerfully and the opposite Illia Hlabai was especially distinguished (12:5). It seemed that the fate of the starting set was already decided. But the "bisons" and, in particular, the glide serve of Oleksandr Nalozhnyi, who replaced Yevhenii Kisiliuk, equalized the score on the scoreboard (14:14). Then the audience saw a powerful attacking volleyball. At the end (24:24), Ternopil captain Volodymyr Mirchev reached the serving zone and made an ace, the speed of which reached 109 km/h. His next serve was also a problem for the opponent: they could not organize a successful attack. Instead, Ternopil's opposite Illia Hlabai did it without problems - 26:24.
In the second set, the "bisons" earned a significant advantage (7:1) on the serve of the Finnish setter Eemi Tervaportti. It continued to grow because the team from Horodok seemed to "wake up" and began to play their typical quality game in attack (18:6). A miracle did not happen and "Epicenter-Podolyany" won this part of the game. In the end, the opposite Danylo Uryvkin scored with two aces - 25:9.
After a long break, the situation on the court did not change: the Podolyany dominated in all elements of the game (16:11 - 19:12). The set ended with an ace by Oleksandr Koval and a block by captain Gijs Jorna - 25:18.
10:1 - that's the crushing score we saw in the fourth set. Podolyany "flew" to their debut victory in the Super League-Dmart of the 2023-2024 season. Instead, Ternopil's game was completely unglued: neither time-outs nor substitutions helped (4:12). In the end, the wards of Brazilian Mauricio Paes celebrated their first victory - 25:12 and 3-1.
Oleksandr Nalozhnyi, the outside hitter of the Bisons, received the MVP award.
On November 12, at 15:00, the Ternopil team will play against the Zhytomyr team "Zhytychi-Polissia".
