The second match of the qualifying stage of the European Championship-2023 the volleyball players of the national team of Ukraine can confidently count as successful. It was clear that they had learned from their last defeat, and that's why they went into the game against Kosovo with the maximum spirit and a clear desire to take three points. Looking ahead, we note that everything worked out well for them.
At the beginning of the meeting, the blue-yellow team had the minimal initiative. However, due to their own mistakes, they could not organize a comfortable advantage for a long time - 7:7, 10:10. An unsuccessful reception from the owners of the court allowed the Ukrainians to launch another effective attack, after which they pulled away by two points - 10:12.
Finding courage, our team made a rush - 13:21. One of its creators was Daryna Onishchenko, who knocked opponents out of reception and earned several aces. But this set was not without nerves, because the players from Kosovo reduced their deficit to a minimum - 22:23. Fortunately, Anastasiia Kotliarenko's girls still had the last word — 22:25.
The development of the next set resembled the previous one — 4:4. Soon, Onishchenko said her word again, and her serve became a real nightmare for the representatives of Kosovo - 4:7. However, Ukrainians lacked the stability to develop this success. Due to this, the opponents got a chance for a comeback — 10:11, 16:17. In the end, our athletes added in all game elements and finished the set in their own favor - 20:25.
Despite two previous failures, the hosts did not lose the spirit and continued to fight. However, these efforts were enough for only the first half of the set. Then only blue-yellows dictated their conditions on the court - 12:25.
