On April 13, Ukrainian volleyball fans were able to enjoy another confrontation between the two best teams of the Super League Budinvest of the 2022-2023 season. VC "Prometey" and "Epicenter-Podolyany" met for the second time in the finals series of matches at the "PVLU" arena. We would like to remind you that the first match ended in favor of the Podolyany (3-1).
Today, as on Tuesday, volleyball players from Dnipro entered the game more aggressively and productively (10:6 - 16:12). It was noticeable that Andrii Levchenko and his team productively worked on mistakes. Dnipro realized 64% of attacks, while "Epicenter" successfully completed only 36%. Ultimately, "Prometey" recorded 25:17 and the first set in their asset.
In the second set, the teams at first were in an even fight (7:7 – 14:14), then each one of them made a number of mistakes. When the Croatian opposite of the "Epicenter" Ivan Reich came out to serve, the situation changed radically - on the other side of the court, another player - Ivan Kryvobok - could not cope with it (19:14). "Bisons" did not relax and kept their concentration until the end of the set - 25:20.
The beginning of the third set was even (12:12). Blocks by Yevhenii Kisiluk and Ivan Reich brought Podolyany ahead (14:12). Then this advantage grew in their favor with great speed (21:15). The players of Dnipro could not prevent the powerful attacks and serves of the reigning champion of the country - 25:22.
In the first minutes of the fourth set, Prometey tried to grab the last chance to continue the match (3:0). But the players of Mariusz Sordyl have a lot of experience and were able to quickly catch up with their opponent (5:5). Then the changing of the leader began again, in which the teams took turns and then tied the score (13:13 - 21:21). At the right moment, the captain of "Prometey" Vitalii Shchytkov gave perfect passes to Dmytro Shapoval and Dmytro Yanchuk, who were able to finish them effectively and win the set - 25:22.
A tie-break was awaiting us. At its beginning, the "Bisons" established a lead (3:0), but quickly lost it (4:4). The serve of the captain of "Prometey" Vitalii Shchytkov brought his team ahead (10:7) and his colleagues only had to keep this +3. What, as a result, they did - 15:12. Thanks to this victory, "Prometey" tied the score in the finals series.
The most productive player in this match was the opposite of "Epicenter-Podolyany" Ivan Reich (21 points).
The opposite of VC "Prometey" - Dmytro Shapoval (20 points) - received the MVP award.
