The men's Super League-Budinvest game weekend began with a match between VC "MHP-Vinnytsia" and VC "Reshetylivka". This confrontation was interesting primarily due to the fact that three weeks ago Oleksandr Frolov started leading the team from Poltava Region, and today he had to "play" against his former team, to which he gave many years of work - the team from Trostianets.
The people from Poltava started the match quite well. On the serve of Denys Hurshal, by the way, the ex-player of "MHP", managed to break away from the opponent a little (7:4). However, they quickly "discarded" this advantage (13:13). Then an equal struggle began, which was accompanied by long rallies and a good game in defense by both teams. Vinnytsia won these long battles better - 27:25.
The second set was also fought for every ball. Each of the teams made their own mistakes: on the serve, on the net. It was difficult for "Reshetylivka" to cope with the submission of "MHP". Instead, the opponent's block and Nick Sotnyk's attack became quite an obstacle for the volleyball players from Trostianets (23:20). The team of Oleksandr Frolov was able to press the opponent and equalize the score in sets - 25:23.
The third set began with a powerful serve by Serhii Mishchenko, which forced the coach of "Reshetylivka" to take a timeout (6:1). The break did not change much - the Vinnytsia team continued to score the necessary points and quickly finished the set in their favor - 25:16.
In the fourth set, Kostyantyn Ryabukha's players immediately took the lead again, but now on the serve of Stanislav Velichko (8:3). The volleyball players from Trostianets continued to dominate and thanks to their emotions, effective attacks, and super-powerful serves, they were able to bring the set and the game to a winning end. Serhii Mishchenko put an end to the match, attacking from the fourth zone - 25:21.
Stanislav Velychko, the middle blocker of MHP-Vinnytsia, was recognized as the best player of the meeting.
This victory of Vinnytsia "fixed" them in the third position of the Super League-Budinvest tournament table. Now Kostyantyn Ryabukha's team has 8 wins and 23 points. "Reshetylivka" has 3 wins and 9 points.
