The central match of the 9th round of the men's Super League-Budinvest was undoubtedly the duel between the current season's favorites VC "Prometey" from the city of Dnipro and representatives of Khmelnytskyi region - "Epicenter-Podolyany".
In the opening set, the audience saw a powerful series of serves from
middle blocker Denys Veletskyi, no less powerful attacks from the opposite Dmytro Shapoval, and a series of blocks from the same Dnipro players. "Epicenter-Podolyany" volleyball players tried to resist the hosts, but they could not succeed. As a result, 25:19 in favor of "Prometey".
In the second set, there was a fierce struggle. The teams demonstrated simply incredibly fast volleyball. At first, the Dnipro club led the score (11:8), but then Podolyany were able to earn 5 points in a row (12:11). However, this was the last episode when they led in this segment of the game (14:14). Andrii Levchenko's team gradually gained the points they needed (18:16 - 22:19), and eventually won the second set in a row - 25:21.
After a 10-minute break, the teams first fought evenly (9:9), then took turns taking the lead (12:9 - 12:14). Later, they again kept an even score on the scoreboard, which created a lot of intrigue in the match (19:19). The end was better played by the players of "Epicenter" - 25:22.
Podolyany realized that not everything was lost and played a good fourth set. At the same time, it was noticeable that the Dnipro players had lost their concentration and were playing less emotionally. 25:18 in favor of the "bisons" and 2-2 in sets.
The tie-break began with a series of servings by middle blocker Maksym Drozd (3:1). These +2 points the team of Mariusz Sordyl was able to save until the end of the match - 15:11 and 3-2 in favor of the team from the town of Horodok.
The most productive player of the match was Ivan Reich (19 points), the opposite of "Epicenter-Podolyany".
The MVP prize went to middle blocker Maksym Drozd from Epicenter as well.
