The first game day ended with a duel of the debutant of the elite division VSC "Bukovyna" with VC "MHP-Ladyzhyn-Kolos-ShVSM".
Vinnytsia immediately set the tempo of the game and showed that even though they changed their name and coaching staff, they did not lose their fighting spirit (5:2 – 10:7). Thanks to the attacks and ace of the Bukovyna captain Oleksandr Tomilin, "Bukovyna" equalized the score (11:11), but not for long, because the "MHP" block worked very efficiently (18:12). In the end, the players of Vinnytsia kept +6 until the end of the starting set - 25:19.
In the second set, the situation changed and the initiative passed to the players of Chernivtsi. They entered the game well (7:4) and led throughout the set (15:10). Volodymyr Orlov's wards were better on the block (3 against 1) and in the attack (55% realization against 35%). 25:18 and "Bukovyna" tied the score in sets.
The 10-minute rest benefited the players of Vinnytsia: they found courage, and in some moments they were downright lucky (3:0 – 11:6). The Chernivtsi team, on the contrary, was confused, made a number of substitutions, but it did not change the situation - 25:19 and 2-1 in favor of "MHP".
The fourth set was the final one in this confrontation: Vinnytsia took the lead on Oleksandr Lukianets's serve (7:1). However, the team from Chernivtsi did not want to give up and equalized the score (14:14 – 18:18). The score was tied until the end of the set. The teams exceeded the limit of 25 points and played until the first error. Vinnytsia made fewer mistakes - 30:28 and 3-1 in the end.
Oleksandr Lukianets (19 points) became the most effective player. He received the MVP award.
Tomorrow, October 21, at 15:00, the Chernivtsi players will play against Law Academy, and the Vinnytsia players will meet the Kharkiv volleyball players on October 22, at 15:00.
