Ukraine - Germany - 0:3 (17:25, 12:25, 14:25)

The starting line-up of the national team of Ukraine: Plotnytskyi (scored 6 points), Synytsia (3), Semeniuk (3), Shchurov (3), Kovalov (1), Tupchii (4), Boiko (l), Kanaiev (l). Substitutes: Yevstratov (0), Kucher (0), Mazenko (2), Poluian (5), Kisiliuk (3).

The Ukrainians played the final match against Germany - the leaders of group A and the team that won an Olympic license for the tour before the end of the tournament.

The Germans entered the field in a sub-optimal composition, giving rest to their leaders - Grozer, Creek, and others. However, this did not affect the quality of their game. In a match that had no tournament significance, they were still not going to give up the victory by any means.

Our opponents immediately showed powerful and fast attacking volleyball (4:9 – 17:23). It was clear that the players who had less playing time on the court really wanted to show what they were capable of and they succeeded - 17:25.

In the second set, the game of our team did not go well at all. Meanwhile, the German national team had a double advantage (6:12 – 8:16), which they quickly turned into another winning set - 12:25.

Next, the head coach of the "blue-yellows" Ugis Krastins gave a chance to play to a blocker Bohdan Mazenko and an opposite Yevhen Kisiluk. The Ukrainian volleyball players struggled a bit at the beginning of the set, but the Germans were determined to finish this match quickly - 14:25 and 0:3 for Germany.

Therefore, Ukraine ended the Olympic qualification in the fifth place of Group A.

Germany and Brazil got to the top 2 and received Olympic licenses.

The USA national team confidently won Group B. Japan took second place in the fight against Slovenia. From Group C, Poland and Canada were the ones to qualify for Paris. They joined the hosts of the Olympic tournament - France.
