On April 20, in Chernivtsi, the third meeting in the series of matches for the bronze awards of the championship of Ukraine in volleyball among men's teams of the Super League-Budinvest of the 2022-2023 season took place at the "PVLU" arena.
The first and second matches ended in favor of volleyball players from Kharkiv (3:1 and 3:1). Therefore, even before the start of the third match, they were clear favorites. In addition, middle blocker from Zhytomyr - Andrii Orobko - suffered a knee injury the day before, and Vitalii Bondar, the main opposite player, had neck problems. They were replaced by Dmytro Shavrak and Oleksandr Haidarenko, respectively.
The first half of the starting set was equal and was accompanied by a large number of errors on the serve were made by both teams (15:15). Block of Mykola Rudnytskyi, and in the next episode Denys Hubenko brought "Zhytichi" ahead (17:15). But later the score was equalized again (20:20), and then Zhytomyr hit out three times in a row (20:23). As the result, the players of Kharkiv kept the earned advantage - 25:23.
The second set also started with a struggle (5:5), but Vitalii Sukhinin and Viktor Shapoval managed to get courage in time (9:5). Next, the Zhytomyr team failed to hit the ball to the court again, they made a mistake in reception, which, of course, was in favor of "Law Academy" (12:5). Kharkiv volleyball players kept the advantage of +7 points without any problems - 25:18.
After the traditional 10-minute break, the situation on the court did not change: Serhii Kovalenko's team quickly went to the coveted bronze awards (11:8 - 16:12). The setter Illia Polishchuk used all the attackers to accelerate the victory in the third and, as a result, the last set. Oleksandr Tereshchuk put the final point in the battle for "bronze" with the first pace attack - 25:19 and 3-0.
The most productive player of the match was Mykyta Arbuzov (12 points) the outside hitter of "Law Academy" and he was the one to receive the MVP prize.
