The program of the 6th round of the Super League-Budinvest was closed by the match between Kharkiv "Law Academy" and "Security Police-ZUNU-Dynamo" from Ternopil. In the first circle, Ternopil residents celebrated their success quite unexpectedly. Today's victory or even defeat in five sets would take them to the 6th place, but the "Law Academy" ended the second circle one position higher, regardless of the result.
The match started rather unexpectedly - 3:0, 5:1 in favor of the Ternopil club. The head coach of "lawyers" Serhii Kovalenko quickly reacted to this development with a time-out, after which his players needed some time to take the lead (10:9). At first, the Kharkiv players failed to develop their success: at the end of the set, the teams had equal chances to win it. Everything was decided by the "lawyers'" 5:0 rush with a score of 19:18 in favor of the opponent. Thanks to it, "Law Academy" came out on top in the match.
Success in the starting set added confidence to Kharkiv residents. They won the first half of the next with a handicap of "+5" (13:8), after which they confidently took the initiative, organizing a two-set handicap before the ten-minute break.
After the rest, the Kharkiv team made several mistakes in simple situations, which helped the Ternopil team to take an 8:2 lead from the start. Serhii Kovalenko made corrections in the actions of his wards in two time-outs, but the players of "Security Police" caught real courage. Yurii Kravtsov's team won the first half of the set with a handicap of "+9" (13:4). In the second half, "lawyers" managed to reduce their deficit to 3 points (17:20), but this rush probably took too much of their strength, and the opponent eventually managed to win the game - 25:18.
The team's fight for victory was transferred to the fourth set. The team from Kharkiv started it more confidently - 4:1, 11:6. In the first half of the set, the Ternopil players reduced their deficit to 2 points (10:12). The game kept volleyball fans in suspense until the very final part. The "lawyers" did not succeed in any of the serves, but this moment was compensated by the reliable defense and effective actions of Vitalii Sukhinin and Viktor Shapoval. However, at the end of the set, "Security Police" equalized the score with willpower (24:24). And yet, "Law Academy", taking two consecutive rallies, managed to bring the game to victory, and with the same score (3:1) with which they lost to the opponent in the first circle.
