Super League-Dmart 2023/24 (women)
IX round. The fifth game. February 17
VC "Dobrodiy-Meduniversitet-ShVSM" — "Halychanka-ZUNU" 3-0 (25:23, 26:24, 25:17)
"Halychanka" loses to "Dobrody" in their penultimate match of the "regular" championship of Super League-Dmart. This failure was fatal for Ternopil, because they lost all chances for the playoffs.
Liudmila Chornenka's wards started the match more successfully because they had nothing to lose (1:3). The team from Vinnytsia quickly came to their senses, and soon Valeriia Yakusheva's ace put Dobrodiy ahead (5:4). The captain, and later Anastasiia Kucher, strengthened the team's leadership with effective attacks (9:6).
For its part, "Halychanka" was not going to back down either: its representatives acted desperately in defense and fought for every ball. As a result, the lag was reduced to a minimum (12:11). A similar handicap between them remained until the end of the set. And then, thanks to the efforts of Daria Stepura and Maria Rybolovlieva, the Ternopil team took the lead overall (22:23). However, they could not develop this success - 25:23.
The second set started with the Vinnytsia players' spurt (3:0). After that, they stopped for some reason, which Liudmila Chornenka's wards took full advantage of (5:8). The so-called "swing" continued, and it was all the more interesting to watch the development of events on the court. At a certain point, after an ace by Maryna Mircheva, the Ternopil team led by two points (18:20). The opponents responded respectively, once again leveling the parity.
In the end, Valeriia Yakusheva took over the role of leader. In particular, the outside hitter's shots helped "Dobrodiy" to double the advantage in sets - 26:24. In the third set, only the first half of it turned out to be intense. Then the initiative was completely on the side of volleyball players from Vinnytsia - 25:17.
