On March 23, the second match of the Ukrainian volleyball championship among men's teams of the Super League-Budinvest took place at the "PVLU" arena. "Epicenter-Podolyany" from the city of Horodok already had one victory over VSC "Law Academy" in the treasury (3:0). So, the next duel was to be decisive: either the Podolyany advance to the finals, or the Kharkiv volleyball players remain in the fight for one more match.
The start of the match was equal (4:4), but later the "bisons" took a little lead (14:11). Next was a controversial draw that required two viewings of the video challenge. It caused a storm of various emotions, and most importantly, it made adjustments to the course of the match. Both teams started to play powerfully and aggressively, of course, within the framework of "fair play" (24:24). The end of the set was in favor of "Epicenter": Ihor Antoniuk - the outside hitter of the "lawyers" - hit the net, and his next attack was blocked by Vladyslav Didenko, a setter from Podolyany - 26:24.
The second set was not so bright, at least for the fans of "Law Academy": the team from Horodok dominated from the first minutes (9:3). Kharkiv residents had a hard time at the reception, instead, the "bisons" held a double advantage (14:7 - 16:8) throughout the entire set - 25:15.
The third set was the last in this meeting, just like the previous time. Serhii Kovalenko's team had a slight advantage (10:7), but lost it, in fact, due to their own mistakes (10:10). But Mariusz Sordyl's team kept the right pace of the game (19:15), and in the end, won the set - 25:20 and the second consecutive semifinal game - 3:0. Thus securing a place in the finals of the Super League Budinvest 2022-2023!
The most effective player was the captain of "Law Academy" Vitalii Sukhinin (16 points).
The MVP prize was awarded to outside hitter of the Epicenter-Podolyany - Yevhenii Kisiliuk (15 points).
