In the second match of the first game day of the 9th round of the Men's Super League-Budinvest, "Epicentr-Podolyany" from the town of Horodok and Kharkiv club VSC "Law Academy" met on the court.
The reigning champion of the country started the match in the absence of the setter Serhii Yevstratov and outside hitter Yevhenii Kisiluk. On their part, the "lawyers" left the experienced attacker Ihor Antoniuk out of the starting six. Perhaps these changes in the composition contributed to an absolutely equal game throughout the first set (16:16). Only at the end did the Kharkiv players lose their concentration, and the "bisons" took advantage of this. They, on the contrary, implemented all attacks and made several important blocks - 25:20.
In the second set, the current winner of the League Cup did not spare the opponent and did not give any points to them: Podolyany acted clearly according to the instructions of their foreign coach Mariusz Sordyl. And these instructions led them to one more winning set - 25:17.
From the first minutes of the set, the Kharkiv volleyball players seemed to be trying to impose a fight, but at the score of 11:11, they, so to speak, "stopped". Podolyany scored 5 points in a row and were already out of reach for "lawyers" - 25:17 and 3:0 in favor of "Epicenter-Podolyany".
The most productive player of the match was the opposite of "Law Academy" Viktor Shapoval (16 points).
The MVP prize (the most valuable player) was awarded to Vladyslav Didenko, a setter from "Epicenter-Podolyany".
