The MEVZA championship among girls' national teams under the age of 17 has ended in Pukhov, Slovakia. The winners were the volleyball players of Croatia, who ultimately received a ticket to the 2023 European Championship. These players passed the entire competitive distance without a single defeat, and in the final, they defeated the Slovenian team with a score of 3-1.
The representatives of Finland and the Czech Republic met in the match for third place. In an interesting five-set confrontation, the latter triumphed.
We would like to remind you that eight teams of member countries of the Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association took part in the tournament. They were divided equally into two quartets. The two best national teams from each group advanced to the semifinals: I) Finland and the Czech Republic; II) Croatia and Slovenia. In the end, the finalists and applicants for "bronze" were decided. All others fought for 5-8 places.
