"Bukovynka" — SC "Balta" 3-1 (20:25, 25:22, 25:13, 25:16)
The players from Chernivtsi paid their debt to the Balta team for their defeat in the Cup of Ukraine. It happened in the first match of the Super League-Dmart 2023/24 for the bronze medal series.
The teams started the match quite actively, where already in the opening minutes we witnessed protracted rallies. The lion's share of them ended in favor of "Balta" (1:4). An organized block of two Katerynas — Cherkashyna and Huseinova — reduced the gap between the sides to a minimum (6:7).
Then the teams alternately exchanged roles on the court, and it was incredibly difficult to determine the winner of the first set at that moment (14:15). Thanks to excellent actions in defense and composure in attack, Andrii Romanovych's wards organized another spurt (14:18). Looking ahead, we note that it became decisive - 20:25.
Artem Dyhtiarenko made changes to his team: in particular, Polina Dziuba appeared on the court. It was her powerful serves that knocked the opponents out of the reception, and as a result, "Bukovynka" secured a comfortable handicap (6:1). Compared to the previous set, representatives of Odesa did not look like themselves for a while, there were many unforced errors. With each new rally, they came to their senses, but it was still not possible to save the set - 25:22.
After a 10-minute break on the floor, the fight continued to be even (6:6), but it did not last long. Once again, we note a considerable number of unforced errors on both sides, but at that moment the Balta players had much more of them, hence the crushing score on the scoreboard — 25:13. The previous triumph boosted the volleyball players from Chernivtsi: they seized the initiative and confidently reached the first victory in the series - 25:16.
