Just three weeks ago, we saw a tense duel between VSC "Bukovyna" and VSC "Law Academy". At that moment, the Chernivtsi team won on the tie-break (3:2). And today, in the rescheduled match of the fifth round of the Ukrainian volleyball championship, they met again.
Due to certain health problems, two players of the main team - setter Andrii Stebletskyi and outside hitter Mykyta Arbuzov - did not appear in the starting line-up of VSC "Law Academy".
In the first set, the score was equal at first (7:7), but one block and an attack at the first pace put the Bukovyna ahead (9:7). Then were aces from Heorhii Klepko and several more successful attacks and blocks (13:7). In general, Volodymyr Orlov's team demonstrated 71% of attacks, made 4 aces and 3 blocks in the starting set. While the players of Kharkiv had 43% realization and 0 aces and blocks. In the end, VSC Bukovyna confidently won the first set - 25:16.
Later, the coach of "Law Academy" made a substitution, replacing captain Vitalii Sukhinin from the opposite position to the outside hitter and releasing Yevhenii Stepovyi in his place. Kharkiv immediately took the lead (2:0 – 8:4), and then lost four points in a row due to insufficient concentration (8:8). Then there was an equal struggle (19:19) until Danylo Fedosieiev, the middle blocker of the "Law Academy", went to serve. It was difficult for the players of Chernivtsi to cope with his glide serve in reception and they allowed the "lawyers" to go ahead (21:19). The Kharkiv team was able to maintain a minimal advantage in the end - 25:21.
Having rested for 10 minutes, the Bukovyna team rushed forward with new strength and the coach's instructions (7:3). But the advantage quickly melted like snow in the sun (9:9). After all, Kharkiv residents are a team that will always fight until the last rally. Then the teams took turns to take the lead (10:12 - 19:17). Later the scoreboard showed an even score again (20:20 – 29:29). The "lawyers" were the first to make the difference of +2 points: Bohdan Tatarenko successfully attacked along the line, and Sukhinin put a single block on Taras Oleksiuk - 31:29.
The fourth set took place in an equal struggle until the "lawyers" took the lead thanks to Tatarenko's block and Oleksandr Tereshchuk's attack (15:13). But then the residents of Chernivtsi managed to score five points in a row and change the course of the set (18:15). Neither time-outs nor substitutions helped "Law Academy" to stabilize the game. 25:22 in favor of "Bukovyna" and 2-2 in sets. A tie-break was awaiting us!
In which, with positive emotions and courage, the team from Chernivtsi rushed to another victory (6:1). These +5 lasted until the end of the game - 15:10 and 3-2.
Oleksandr Tomilin (29 points), the captain of VSC "Bykovyna" was the most productive player. He received the MVP award.
On November 11, at 12:00, the Kharkiv team will play against representatives of Vinnytsia - VC "MHP-Ladyzhyn-ShVSM-Kolos". And "Bukovyna" will wait for Sunday and will meet with Vinnytsia at 12:00.
