"Balta" rehabilitated in front of their own fans for the last defeat against Chernivtsi. Today, Andrii Romanovych's wards won a difficult victory over Halychanka, which became their fourth overall in Super League-Dmart 2023/24.
Hits on the net and the block of the opponents from the thorn meadows led to a comfortable leadership of the representatives of Odesa (1:5). Next, Liudmyla Chornenka's team, having let down their vigilance a little, conducted a series of powerful attacks and reduced the gap to a minimum. Andrii Romanovych responded with a timeout. After a break, his wards regained the initiative and confidently triumphed — 14:25.
What can you say about the next set, for which "Halychanka" came out driven to win? They managed to materialize their desire into a total advantage (8:3). Thanks to the efforts of Valeriia Dromova, "Balta" performed a reception. However, this did not derail the winning pace of the Ternopil volleyball players, who in those minutes had a tight, but most importantly, accurate serve (13:5).
After Daria Skliarova appeared on the court, Andrii Romanovych's team improved their defensive game. Which allowed them to return the intrigue in this set (22:20). Despite this, the last word remained with the rivals - 25:21.
The beginning of the next set was marked by constant changing of the leader (3:0, 4:5). For a long time, no one managed to seize the initiative, until Anastasiia Strelbytska went to serve. The opposite knocked out opponents from reception, at the same time scoring several aces (8:14). This moment added confidence to the Balta team and became one of the decisive ones in the set - 22:25.
In the fourth set, it was expected that "Halychanka" would give all its strength in order to grab its first points in the championship of Ukraine. But it did not happen as expected. Perhaps the Ternopil team has burned out at some point because, in the end, they managed to score only 17 points.
