The second round of qualification for Euro-2023 (U-17)

Group E: Belgium, Estonia, Kosovo, Ukraine

Our athletes will go to Kosovo on April 18. The long road should not interfere with their morale, because everyone perfectly understands the responsibility of these games.

- We will do everything that's possible to get to the European Championship, - said Anastasiia Kotlyarenko, the coach of the blue and yellow team. - The experience of performances in the Super League-Dmart should help us in this. As part of preparations for the competition, in addition to the matches of the championship of Ukraine, we held a sparring session with the second team of "Alanta", and we also plan to play against one of the teams from Chernivtsi.

As we mentioned above, among the opponents of Ukrainians in this qualifying round of the European Championship will be players from Estonia. We would like to remind you that the girls met each other in the championship of the East European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA), where our opponents celebrated a 3-1 victory.

- Yes, unfortunately, we lost to Estonia in the EEVZA championship. However, we have already worked on the mistakes, so we are looking forward to the next meeting, - said Anastasiia Serhiivna.

Qualification takes place in two stages. The participants first played in the championships of zonal associations, the winners of which immediately qualified for the Euro. By the way, Ukraine took second place in the EEVZA tournament, while Poland was first.

20 teams will compete in the second round. They were equally divided into five groups. The games will be held in the format of a one-round tournament. The first two teams from each quartet will qualify for the main draw.

A total of 16 teams will participate in the 2023 European Championship. It will be hosted by two countries — Hungary (the city of Bekeščaba) and Serbia (the city of Vrnjačka Banja). The matches will take place from July 11 to 22.
