The three-day marathon of matches of the 1st stage of the Cup of Ukraine 2023/24 among women's teams has been completed. On December 28, three more teams that made it to the next round of the competition were finally decided.
Group A (TRGC "Soniachna Dolyna", Boyany village)
"Khmelnytski Pantery" — "MSC "Dnipro-KDYUSSh No. 1" 3-0 (25:17, 25:18, 25:23)
In the match for second place in group A, the representatives of Khmelnytskyi did not leave any chance to the "Dnipro" team of Cherkasy. We would like to remind you that this game had no tournament significance, because "Regina" received a ticket to the "final eight" yesterday.
Group B ("PVLU" Arena, Hodyliv village)
"The team of Poltava region Poltavshchyna-PNPU" — "Halychanka-ZUNU 0-3 (14:25, 22:25, 15:25)
"Naftusia" — VC "Voleybuk-ChNU-CHODYUSSH" 3-0 (25:10, 25:8, 25:15)
In the only quartet at this stage, the intrigue, albeit small, lasted until the last round. In fact, the winner of the group was decided on December 27 in a confrontation between Naftusia and Halychanka, where the Truskaves team triumphed.
Today, the last team had to win two sets against the underdogs to advance to the next round, and they did a great job with this task. Let's add that "Halychanka" also won a convincing victory and took the final second place, which was a weak consolation for them. Players from Poltava and Chernivtsi placed third and fourth, respectively.
Group B (TRGC "Soniachna Dolyna", Boiany village)
"Enerhetyk" — Sports Academy "Prometey" 0-3 (11:25, 16:25, 8:25)
Anastasiia Kotliarenko's wards easily overcame the resistance of the "Enerhetyk" players and won group B with a one hundred percent score. "Kryvbas" becomes second, and "Enerhetyk" is third. It should be noted that Prometey Sports Academy and the aforementioned Naftusia are two representative teams of the Higher League that made it to the "Final Eight".
Group G (SH "Budivelnyk", Chernivtsi)
VC "Bukovynka" — DVC "Polisianka" 3-0 (25:4, 25:9, 25:7)
The match between "Bukovynka" and "Polisianka" lasted less than an hour and ended with a confident triumph of the Chernivtsi team. The clear favorites calmly pass to the final stage. "Prykarpattia-Olympia-DYUSSh No. 2" and DVC "Polisianka" took the second and third places, respectively.
So, the winners of the aforementioned groups advanced to the "final eight" of the Cup of Ukraine — they are "Regina-MEGU-OShVSM", "Naftusia", Sports Academy "Prometey" and VC "Bukovynka".
There, the first four of the elite division based on the results of last season are already waiting for this round's winners: SC "Prometey", "Alanta", VC "Dobrodiy-Meduniversitet-ShVSM" and SC "Balta".
The games of the final stage of the competition will take place from March 11 to 17.
