Another game day of the seventh round of the Super League-Dmart was opened by SC "Balta" and "Alanta" from Dnipro. The winner of the League Cup 2022 beat its opponent in the matches of the first two rounds of the championship with the same score of 3:0. At the same time, in the second match, the Balta team put up a worthy opposition to the famous opponent, and in one of the sets they conceded only in the "more or less" game.
This time, unfortunately, the fight did not work out at all. Gariy Yegiazarov's team confidently started the match - 4:1, 8:4. The head coach of "Balta" Serhii Koltsov took a time-out due to the loosing of his team. After a short break, his team reduced the deficit to 2 points (7:9), but the Dnipro club's response was their mini-rush 3:0. In the second half of the set, "Alanta" continued to confidently own the initiative. Dnipro players not only effectively attacked from the 4th and 2nd zones but also reliably defended themselves on the block. Their final advantage in the set reached a double-digit mark - 25:15.
The second set began with an even more powerful push by "Alanta" than at the start of the first - 9:2, 11:3. The Balta team at that moment had big problems at the reception. Having slightly improved this component, Serhii Koltsov's team caught up with the opponent - 7:11. In response, "Alanta" first managed to quickly return "+8" in its favor (15:7), and then increased this comfortable handicap (25:14).
During the long break, the head coach of "Alanta" Gary Yegiazarov noted that his players should not relax under any circumstances. The players listened to their mentor and at the start of the third set took the first 6 rallies at once. The players from Dnipro very quickly reached a handicap of 10 points (14:4), after which, basically, the fate of the entire match was decided.
In this set, "Alanta" lost only 8 rallies to the opponent, in the end, scored 35 points in the championship, and for the second time in this round got to the first place in the tournament table.
