The match between Dnipro's "Prometey" and Kharkiv "Law Academy" can be safely called one of the central matches of the 8th round of the Men's Super League-Budinvest.
"Lawyers" immediately came forward (7:4), but their lead did not last long. The opposite of "Prometey" Dmytro Shapoval served and made two powerful aces (14:12). As a result, only in the first set, he made 4 aces! The Dnipro club started feeling the pace of the game, tuned in, and without any problems won the opening set - 25:21.
In the second set, Serhii Kovalenko's team, to put it mildly, "got a little lost": neither time-outs, substitutions, nor mistakes by the Dnipro did not help (12:19). But at some point, "Prometey" lost concentration, and Kharkiv attackers Ihor Antoniuk and Mykyta Arbuzov effectively took advantage of this. The outside hitters made 83% and 71% of effective attacks and turned the tide of the set. In the end, they managed not only to catch up but also to even the score by sets - 28:26.
Andrii Levchenko's players did not make a similar mistake in the third set. Ian Yereshchenko and Dmytro Shapoval directed their attacks precisely into the court - 25:19.
The fourth set turned out to be the most emotional: Dnipro wanted to finish the match and win, while Kharkiv wanted to stay in the fight for at least one more set. The Prometey players were more successful in fulfilling all the instructions of the coaching staff - 25:19 and 3:1 in the end.
The most effective player of the match was Dnipro's opposite player Dmytro Shapoval. He scored 22 points and was awarded the prize of the most valuable player.
