Anastasiia Kotliarenko's wards also lost in the second match of the selection for the 2024 European Championship. This time, representatives of France became the winners over Ukrainians.

Thanks to an accurate serve, the blue-yellow team organized a rush from the start (5:2). However, the rivals did not want to let our girls go far, trying to hold on to every point. In the end, they first equalized the parity, and then, due to the errors of the Ukrainians in the attack, they completely broke into the leaders (14:16). Anastasiia Kotliarenko reacted with a time-out, after which her wards regained the initiative. Soon, Anna-Mariia Hoshilyk put an end to the first set with an ace - 25:21.

Inspired by the previous success, the Ukrainian national team started the second set strongly (3:0). However, to develop this advantage, they lacked stability. In general, we regularly had to watch co-called "swings" in this match. One of these led to the triumph of the French - 19:25.

Then the teams exchanged winning sets — 21:25, 25:22. Therefore, the fate of the confrontation was determined by a tie-break. There, unfortunately, fortune was on the side of the opponents - 11:15. Thus, the blue-yellow team suffered a second consecutive defeat in the qualification for the championship of the continent.
