Finland — Ukraine 0-3 (20:25, 22:25, 23:25)

The wards of Artem Dyhtiarenko started the qualifying stage for the 2024 European Championship with a victory. In the first match, they overcame the resistance of the representatives of Finland.

At the start of the confrontation, the teams rubbed against each other, hence the balance on the scoreboard (4:4). However, the initiative gradually passed to the hands of the blue-yellow team, who eventually secured a comfortable handicap (9:15). At the end of the set, the Finns knocked out the opponents from the reception, reducing the gap to a minimum (19:20). Fortunately, the Ukrainians recovered in time and finished what they started - 20:25.

In the second set, the sides kept pace for a long time (11:11). None of them could break away from the score by more than three points. However, it still happened: Bohdana Hrytsyk put an end to the protracted rally with a well-hit shot and forced the opponent's coach Yoonas Huhtakangas to take a time-out (12:16). With certain problems, however, our athletes were able to bring the segment to their triumph - 22:25.

The third set was the final in this match. Although its beginning and further development of events spoke of the opposite. Because the representatives of Finland shocked, apparently, not only the national team of Ukraine but also themselves, leading 6:0. Artem Dyhtiarenko's time-outs brought our volleyball players to their senses. They corrected the situation on the floor, but the girls still lacked stability. Therefore, we witnessed so-called "swings". As a result, the balance tipped in favor of blue-and-yellows — 23:25.
