EEVZA-2024 Championship (women U-20)
Siauliai, Lithuania
III round. January 5
Ukraine — Azerbaijan 3-0 (25:12, 25:6, 25:10)
Artem Dyhtiarenko's wards won another victory in the championship of the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association. Today, the Ukrainians did not leave any chance to the representatives of Azerbaijan.
From the opening minutes of the match, the players of the national team stunned the opponents with a high-quality serve. In particular, Veronika Tverda, and then Diana Pidtykana, who appeared on the court by the course of the meeting.
It should be noted that due to a solid margin in the score (7:0), the blue-yellow coaching staff received an excellent opportunity to rotate. It was difficult for the Azerbaijani players to score every point because the Ukrainians acted in an organized manner on the block. And most of their earned points are the mistakes of our athletes - 25:12.
Artem Dyhtiarenko's wards dominated in the second set as well. An opponent's weak performance at the reception was noticeable. Hence the lack of attack and, as a result, of won rallies as well. For their part, our volleyball players continued to steadily serve. Soon, Maria Nakoskina put an end to this set with a well-hit shot - 25:6.
After the confident performance of the national team of Ukraine in the previous two sets, there was no reason to doubt the overall victory of our team. As a result, the third set was also without intrigue - 25:10.
