On December 27, the matches of the second game day of the 1st round of the Women's Cup of Ukraine 2023/24 were held. According to the results of the games, in particular, "Regina" was the first at this stage to advance to the "final eight", while "Halychanka" suffered an unexpected defeat from the representatives of the Higher League.
Group A (TRGC "Soniachna Dolyna", Boiany village)
"Regina-MEGU-OSHVSM" — "MSC "Dnipro-KDYUSSH No. 1" 3-1 (25:18, 25:16, 24:26, 25:18)
Today, "Regina" fans experienced the phenomenon of déjà vu. As in yesterday's confrontation with the "Pantery", their favorites did not feel any resistance from "Dnipro" in the first two sets. However, the total dominance of the Rivne team dissolved in the third set. Did they believe in their success too early, or did the opponents add to their game? Be that as it may, Antonina Zhuk's wards lost the set. The coach held an educational conversation with her players during the break, which brought them back to their tonus. In the end, "Regina" triumphed and booked a place in the next stage.
Group B ("PVLU" Arena, Hodyliv village)

In the meeting of equal teams, the debut victory in the tournament was won by the "team of Poltava region Poltavshchyna-PNPU". The latter again challenged the opponents more or less in the second game. Compared to the match against Naftusia, this time fortune smiled on the team from Poltava. Hanna Vazhynska's wards failed to take advantage of the psychological advantage immediately. However, they got together and finished what they had started in the fourth set.
"Halychanka-ZUNU" — "Naftusia" 1-3 (17:25, 22:25, 25:19, 23:25)
A comeback that did not happen - this is how you can describe the match between "Halychanka" and "Naftusia". Basically, it was a battle for first place in group B, because the day before the parties both won "easy" victories. And the Ternopil team began it rather confusedly, which was accompanied by a large number of mistakes. The representatives of the "higher league" controlled the course of events in the starting sets, and then the initiative was taken over by their opponents. At a certain moment, it seemed that the triumph of Liudmyla Chornenka's team was inevitable: they won the third set and took the lead in the fourth. However, they stopped further for some reason, which the Truskaves players took full advantage of.
Group B (TRGC "Soniachna Dolyna", Boiany village)
VC "Kryvbas" — "Enerhetyk" 3-0 (25:12, 25:17, 25:22)
After an unsuccessful debut in the Cup of Ukraine against SA "Prometey", the Kryvyi Rih team was fully rehabilitated in front of their fans already in the next game. And they met with the volleyball players of "Enerhetyka", who represent the First League. Now Alim Batiuk's wards have to hope for a confident sensational victory of the team from Netishyn against the "red and whites", which seems unlikely.
Group G (SH "Budivelnyk", Chernivtsi)
VC "Prykarpattia-Olympia-DYUSSh No. 2" — DVC "Polisianka" 3-1 (20:25, 25:20, 25:10, 25:17)
Another club of the First League, "Polisianka", gave a battle to the strong "Prykarpattia".
