On Sunday, last season's silver and bronze medalists Epicenter-Podolyany (Horodok) and VSC "Law Academy" (Kharkiv) met at the PVLU arena as part of the third round of the Super League-Dmart.
Their meeting from the start was intense and emotional. Both teams were determined to win and demonstrated a good game (10:10 - 24:24). The fight for every point continued until the end, where the volleyball players from Horodok played better - 26:24.
The second set was also equal, but only at its beginning (2:2 – 8:8). After that, the "lawyers" could not finish the attack, or rather finish it so the ball would reach the floor (11:8) and the Kharkiv team had big problems with reception (14:8). In the end, such an advantage was difficult to eliminate. 25:19 in favor of the "bisons".
During the long break, the coach of the Kharkiv team, Serhii Kovalenko, actively gave instructions to his wards. However, the same problems with the reception of a powerful serve by the Podolyany did not allow "Law Academy" to break out into the leaders (3:7). Problems were also added by the high-quality service of Danylo Uryvkin, who replaced the "Epicenter's" legionnaire Michal Finger (15:10). Volodymyr Ostapenko put an end to this match, scoring the point with a first pace attack - 25:16.
The most productive player in this confrontation was the opposite of "Epicenter-Podolyany" Michal Finger (12 points).
