EEVZA Championship-2023 (women U-18)
I round. November 20
Ukraine — Poland 2-3 (15:25, 21:25, 25:23, 25:16, 8:15)
On November 20, the opening matches of the Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association 2023 championship among women's national teams in the age category under 18 took place. On this day, in Daugavpils, the Ukrainians met with the favorites of the competition, the Polish team.
The first set was completely dictated by the opponents, who served better and were more successful in the final stage of attacks. However, the further, the more confident Anastasiia Kotliarenko's wards looked, in particular, on the block. Despite the defeat in the second set, they did not lose heart and continued to look for their game.
In the end, our girls managed to turn the tide of the confrontation: the tense third and fourth sets were in their favor. In the tie-break, which is played until 15 points, the blue-yellow team led 7:3. It's a shame that at a certain point, everything literally started to fall out of hands. For their part, the Poles, having gained a psychological advantage, made an incredible spurt.
Tomorrow, November 21, at 13:00, Ukrainians will play against Azerbaijan. Watch the broadcasts of the SEVZA championship matches at the link.
