"Halychanka-ZUNU" — SC "Balta" 1-3 (29:27, 19:25, 22:25, 22:25)
After a not-very-confident start in the championship of Ukraine, the Balta team sought to win their first victory. According to the calendar, in the second match of the starting round, they were opposed by the volleyball players of "Halychanka", who also did not take a single set the day before.
Ternopil's team got off to a fast start. Almost every one of their attacks in those minutes reached the goal (5:2). Thanks to the efforts of Valeriia Dromova, the former captain of Halychanka, Andrii Romanovych's wards got close to the opponents. Even before the middle of the set, on Anastasiia Malysheva's serve, they made a spurt and changed roles with the opponents (8:11).
Liudmila Chornenka's team did not give up, having the feeling that "Balta" could be fought. Eventually, they equalized the parity (18:18) and after several rallies thanks to Maryna Mircheva's accurate shot over the double block, they took the lead again (21:20). The ending was incredibly tense (25:25, 27:27). However, the Ternopil team turned out to have stronger nerves - 29:27.
The break between sets worked well for the Balta, because they started the next set quite powerfully, although the ending turned out to be somewhat smeared. "Halychanka", on the other hand, was visibly depressed and lost self-confidence (6:13). Only a miracle could help them save this set, and in fact, they almost made it - 19:25.
Once again, the volleyball players from Odesa immediately took the initiative. Anastasiia Strelbytska and company scored points again and again (9:16). Chornenka's wards still moved well on the block, but often the teammates did not have time to secure the rebound. At the end of the set, more mistakes were made by "Balta". However, this did not prevent them from taking the lead - 22:25.
It was difficult for "Halychyanka" in the fourth set, in particular, psychologically. After all, no one likes the role of catching up. However, while losing 14:20, the players from Ternopil leveled the numbers on the scoreboard with morale and willpower. A tie-break seemed inevitable. However, the last word remained with the Baltia team - 22:25.
