In the opening match of the Ukrainian volleyball championship among the men's teams of the Super League-Dmart of the 2023-2024 season, VC "Prometey" and VC "Reshetylivka-Barkom-Kazhany" met.
The first minutes of the confrontation seemed difficult: the players of both teams were getting used to the court and the rhythm of the game. Thanks to two aces - by Dmytro Viietskyi and Oleksandr Hladenko and a smaller number of serving errors, the Dnipro team managed to earn a minimal advantage (18:15 - 21:18). Andrii Levchenko's wards spent the end of the set much better than its beginning - 25:20.
In the second set, the game of the Poltava players completely settled down: they had a lot of their own mistakes, and the "Prometey" simply "woke up" and began to demonstrate a better game (10:5 - 18:8). In the end, they allowed Poltava residents to score only 13 points - 25:13.
The reigning national champion controlled the third set as well. The Dnipro volleyball players immediately led the score thanks to the attacks of Viietskyi and Yan Yereshchenko (5:3). Andrii Levchenko decided to give all his players game practice. Serhii Yevstratov, Dmytro Shapoval, and Denys Veletskyi appeared on the court. And they, not surprisingly, did not spoil the game, but on the contrary, increased the advantage (21:16). But Serhii Sosnin's team did not give up and continued their try to impose a fight, but they failed to turn the tide of the match - 25:23 and 3:0 in favor of "Prometey".
The most productive player of the match was the captain of the Poltava team Nik Sotnyk (13 points).
The MVP prize was awarded to the Serbian outside hitter of VC "Prometey" - Mihajlo Stanković (9 points - 60% of attacks).
Tomorrow, October 21 at 12:00, Poltava players will play against Chernihiv's "Burevisnyk-ShVSM", and "Prometey" will meet them on October 22 at 12:00.
