Ukraine - Czech Republic - 3:1 (25:19, 25:16, 23:25, 25:20)

Starting line-up of the national team of Ukraine: Poluian (scored 15 points), Synytsia (3), Semeniuk (10), Shchurov (6), Kovalov (22), Tupchii (17), Boiko (l), Kanaiev (l). Substitutes: Plotnytskyi (5), Kucher (0).

This match had no tournament significance for either team but was significant in gaining ranking points towards the world ranking.

This motivated the Ukrainians quite a bit and they immediately demonstrated it on the court of the arena in Rio de Janeiro (18:13). In the opening set, the men's national team of Ukraine allowed the opponents to score only 19 points - 25:19.

The second set was generally devastating (10:7 – 20:12). "Blue-yellows" did not relax, but on the contrary wanted to end this match as soon as possible - 25:16.

During the entire third set, the Ukrainians were in the lead again, but in the end, due to their own mistakes, they gave the leadership to the Czechs (20:23), and as a result, they lost this set - 23:25.

After success in the previous part of the game, the Czechs were charged for the continuation in the fourth set (1:4 – 10:13). But thanks to a successful game on the block, the Ukrainians established parity (13:13), which lasted almost until the end of the set (19:19). The end of the set was won by the Ukrainians: Kovalov and Plotnytskyi attacked quite well, and then it was the captain's turn to serve, thus he made two aces (24:19). The Czechs put an end to the set and the match by serving the ball into the net - 25:20.

The most effective player in the Ukrainian national team was Illia Kovalov (22 points).

On October 8 at 23:00 Kyiv time, the Ukrainians will play the final qualification match against the German national team.
