On July 4, the quarter-final match of the Summer Universiade took place in the Chinese city of Chengdu. The national team of Ukraine met with the Polish team. We should add that in 2019, at the Universiade in Naples, Polish athletes became second, losing to the Italians in the finals.

And considering the development of volleyball in Poland, it was clear that we had a difficult opponent.

The national team of Poland started this match better: the attacks were accurate, the number of errors was smaller and the presence of a powerful serve was also evident - 20:25.

The second set started with a more or less equal score (7:8), but the Polish volleyball players were able to organize a fairly decent lead (13:18) in time. And, in the end, they won another set - 16:25.

Having rested a little, Serhii Kovalenko's wards decided to demonstrate their fighting nature. "Blue and Yellows" took the initiative on the court and now the Poles were in the role of catching ups (3:0 - 5:2 - 12:7 - 16:13). However, the Ukrainians failed to maintain their advantage of +3 points (17:17 – 17:19). The Polish volleyball players turned the tide of the game and were able to finish the match with a so-called "easy" victory. The final score appeared on the scoreboard - 19:25 and 0:3 in the end.

The best sniper on our team was Ivan Kryvobok (14 points).
