On July 2, the national team of Ukraine defeated Japan in the decisive match for a place in the quarterfinals of the competition.

The starting set was held in an even fight, but the first to score the cherished 25 points was the team of Serhii Kovalenko - 25:22.

The next set of the game was for the Japanese - 20:25. However, the desire of Ukrainian volleyball players to reach the quarterfinals was much stronger than the sadness of losing in the second set. "Blue-yellows" managed to correct their mistakes and win the third set - 25:20.

In the fourth set, which became the final one, the Ukrainians acted confidently (19:14) and had a good advantage, which they eventually turned into a victory - 25:20 and 3:1, in the end.

It should be noted the game of our team on the block (total 12 against 3 that opponents made) and on the serve (6 aces against 1).

The best sniper on our team was captain Dmytro Yanchuk (14 points).
