On July 19, the drawing of lots for the group stage of the 2023/24 Champions League among women's teams took place in Luxembourg. SC "Prometey" is the only representative of Ukraine in the most prestigious European club competitions.
At this stage of the tournament, Ivan Petkov's team got into Group E, where they will play against already well-known Le Cannet (France), LKS Lodz (Poland), and one of the teams from the qualifying stage.
The first two clubs from each group and one best team among the third places will advance to the playoffs.
The results of the draw for the qualifying stage of the Champions League:
Group A: "Mladost" (Zagreb, Croatia), "OK Gatsko" (Bosnia and Herzegovina), "Asterix Avo Beveren" (Belgium), "OK Herceg-Novi" (Montenegro).
Group B: "Kralovo Pole" (Brno, Czech Republic), "Alba Blaj" (Romania), "Gran Canaria" (Spain), "Hapoel Kfar Saba" (Israel).
It should be noted that Ukraine was among the best countries in the Champions League ranking among women's teams for the last three seasons. With 110.66 points, it ranks 7th on this list. This entitles Prometey, as the country's champion, to automatically qualify for the group stage of the Champions League for the second year in a row.
