Today, the first Dmart League Cup in the history of Ukrainian women's volleyball of Ukraine started with a match between SC "Balta" and the "National Team of Ukraine U-17". Match N1 of the new tournament was supposed to be the confrontation between "Prometey" and "Halychanka-ZUNU". However, the team from Ternopil withdrew from the Cup due to the illness of almost all its members. That is why "Prometey" became the third semi-finalist of the tournament after "DobroDiy" and "Alanta".
"Balta" and "National Team of Ukraine U-17" met only 11 days ago as part of the 6th round of the Super League-Dmart, and then one of the youngest teams in the championship won with a score of 3:1. Today, "Balta" managed to take revenge with the same score.
The game started with the fact that the "national players" took an early advantage (3:0, 4:1). However, the Balta team did not take long to respond and took the lead in the first half of the set (6:4, 11:7). Serhii Koltsov's team continued to confidently own the initiative, taking the set without any problems - 25:15.
In the second set, the U-17 national team of Ukraine again succeeded in the starting spurt, this time – 5:1, 7:2. In response, the opponents very quickly managed not only to equalize the score, but also to take the lead, and more or less comfortable handicap (13:9). Volodymyr Podkopaiev's team already had to catch up with the opponent, and it coped with this task in the second half of the set (16:16, 19:19). After that, "Balta" managed a 3:0 run, which largely decided the fate of the set. It was won by the team from the Odesa region with a score of 25:23, despite all the efforts of the "national players", who won two set balls at once.
In the debut of the third game, the teams alternated in the lead, and at the same time, "Ukraine U-17 National Team" managed to create a solid handicap of "+5" (11:6). In the second half of the set, at the cost of great efforts, the Balta team first reduced the deficit to a minimum (15:16, 16:17), and then equalized the score (22:22, 23:23). The winner of this exciting set was determined in the "more-less" game. Thanks to Margarita Heiko's effective attack from the 4th zone and Anastasiia Nedilko's ace, the "National Team of Ukraine U-17" was absolutely deserved.
In the fourth set, "Balta" completely regained its dominance - 3:0, 8:3, 13:6. During the second half of the set, the advantage of the team from the Odesa region in 9 points was twice (16:7, 20:11). Serhii Koltsov's team very confidently won both this set (25:15) and the match in general (3:1).
Tomorrow, in the first semi-final match of the "Dmart" League Cup, "Balta" will play against "DobroDiy-Meduniversitet-ShVSM".
