The organizers have determined the rules and dates of the European Golden League tournaments among men's and women's national teams in 2023.
Competition format:
The format for men and women is the same. 12 teams divided into three quartets will participate in each of these categories. At this stage, the teams will play six matches each (three at home/three away).
The composition of the groups will be formed based on the ranking of the national teams as of September 12, 2022, for men and October 12, 2022, for women.
The winners of the quartets and the host country of the so-called "final round" will advance to the next stage. If the latter is among the three leaders, the fourth semi-finalist will be the best-ranked team among all second places.
The finalists will have the opportunity to participate in the 2023 Candidates' Cup. At the same time, the last-ranked team of the European Golden League 2023 draw will go down in class and will play in the European Silver League in 2024.
Dates of the competition in 2023:
- the first round — May 27/28;
- the second round — May 31;
- the third round — June 3/4;
- the fourth round — June 10/11;
- the fifth round — June 14;
- the sixth round — June 17/18.
"Finals of four" among men's and women's teams will be held on June 24-25. The host countries have not yet been determined.
