In the second quarter-final match of the "Budinvest" League Cup, in which "MHP-Vinnytsia" and "The team of the Poltava region. VC Reshetylivka" faced each other, a more intense struggle was expected than in the opening match of the tournament. In the championship, twice in four games, stronger than the opponent was a team from Trostianets, but today's schedules were completely different. A possible rematch of "Reshetylivka" also meant the end of the cup journey of "MHP-Vinnytsia", which had a higher seeding number.
The match lived up to expectations: every set was exciting, and in the end, "MHP-Vinnytsia" won again with a score of 3:1. In the first half of the opening set, none of the opponents managed to pull away further than by 2 points. It was with a handicap of +2 (13:11) at the equator of the set that "Reshetylivka" was stronger, but at the end of it, "MHP-Vinnytsia" broke ahead by the same number of points (21:19, 24:22). Kostianin Ryabukha's team, having received the right to two set points, took advantage of the opportunity to win the set at the very first attempt.
The debut of the second set followed the same scenario as the beginning of the previous one. Again, none of the teams managed to create a more or less comfortable gap during a significant game segment. At the beginning of the second half of the set, Kostyantyn Ryabukha's team managed to do it (17:12). At this moment, the head coach of "Reshetylivka" Oleksandr Frolov took the second time-out in the set. After the necessary adjustment of actions, his wards equalized the score in the final part of the set (22:22). And yet, in the second set in a row, MHP-Vinnytsia was stronger (25:23). At the same time, the opponent made their own task as difficult as possible with two unsuccessful serves.
After a 10-minute break in the opening of the third set, MHP-Vinnytsia looked very convincing. Her 11-5 run meant a solid bid to win the entire match. However, already at the equator of the set, the score was equal (13:13). The players of "Reshetylivka" finally acquired the necessary rhythm and by all accounts won this set - 25:19.
On the wave of this success, they took the lead at the start of the fourth set with an advantage of 4 points (7:3). Now the opponent had to look for reserves to strengthen the game. They were found very quickly. "MHP-Vinnytsia" evened the score three times in the first half of the set (7:7, 11:11, 12:12), after which they regained the lead (15:12, 18:15). In a few minutes, the tension in this set reached its highest point - 19:19, 20:20. The end of the set remained for "MHP-Vinnytsia", which organized a 5:0 rush.
The victory of Kostyantyn Ryabukha's team allowed it to become the second semi-finalist of the League Cup. At this stage, they will play against "Prometey".
